WestFest 2014: All Over Westbeth

Aimee Plauche grew up in Lilburn, GA, and holds a BFA in Dance from Florida State University. She has shown work at Movement Research Open Performance, WAXworks, Spoke the Hub's Winter Follies and Local Produce Festival, and with NACHMO. She teaches GYROKINESIS® and hopes to be brave one day.
BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT, led by Kyla Barkin and Aaron Selissen, is a NYC based dance-arts company focused on collaboration across multiple disciplines. Harnessing the strength and experience of its contributors, B/S P creates thought provoking, emotionally driven work.
The Little Streams celebrates the combined efforts of music-making and dance-making. The group utilizes the talents of its members to create dance in, about, and around the music provided by each other. Its director, Emily Craver, has made work for NACHMO, WAXworks, Built on Stilts, Dancewave's Works in Progress, and East Flatbush Dance Festival and depends upon the loveliness and creativity of her dancers and musicians.
Carol Mendes is the artistic director of Carol Mendes & Artists. A native of Brazil, Carol first received her BFA in Dance at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Brazil). She also holds an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. Her staged work has been presented in several venues such as the Ailey Citigroup Theater, the Wild Project, Dixon Place, Triskelion Arts, DANY Studios, and The Green Building/ Gowanus Arts & Production.
Jean Jang was born in South Korea and started dance training when she was five years old. She continued to train when her family moved to Austin Texas. She attended multiple dance and choreography intensives including; Lines Ballet Summer Intensive, Ballet Austin Summer Intensive, and Regional Dance of America National Choreography Intensive (Chosen as a Project Tier Choreographer). Jean graduated in 2013 from Butler University with a BFA in Dance Performance.

Mari Meade Montoya attended NOCCA (New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts) and North Carolina School of the Arts. She started Mari Meade Dance Collective (MMDC) in 2009 after receiving the Kenan Fellowship at Lincoln Center Institute. Since then MMDC has been climbing, twisting, turning, posing, reorganizing, spitting, traveling, riding, flying, performing, laughing, driving, shivering, rehearsing, partying, sleeping, improving, growing, living…and dancing. Cleo brings combines circus, ballet, and joy in her performance for WestFest 2014.
Sally is a Westbeth Resident and has participated in All Over Westbeth several times. Our tour will visit Sally's apt to see her lovely dancers.
