ABOUT:
WestFest: Top Floor 2027 presents two programs of visionary artists at Westbeth, bringing audiences and artists together in an intimate, immersive performance environment.
This year, we’re letting the building surprise us: WestFest’s 2027 Top Floor home is still being determined, but will be one of two premier performance spaces within the Westbeth campus. As we finalize the space, artists should be prepared to present their work in a range of settings, from a traditional theater configuration to a more unconventional performance environment. You can count on WestFest to deliver a performance experience that showcases a breadth of choreographic excellence in New York City dance, while fostering a warm, welcoming community of artists.
Selected artists will present an up-to-8-minute piece—new or adapted—across three shared performances. Exact space dimensions, audience configuration, and technical specifications will be shared with selected artists as they are confirmed.
APPLICATION:
The curation panel will be looking for a diverse group of dance artists with a strong vision and high-performance quality. Strong preference will be given to artists based in the New York metropolitan area.

THE PROCESS & TIMELINE:
To apply for TOP FLOOR, complete the application below:
Each artist will have the opportunity to show a new or adapted work (8 minutes max) in three shared performances.

Tech Rehearsal: 30-minute tech slot assigned between Sun-Tues, May 2-4 (Exact time shared upon acceptance)

Dress Rehearsal: Wednesday, May 5 (Exact time shared upon acceptance)

Program A: Thurs, May 6, and Sat, May 8

Program B: Fri, May 7 and Sun, May 9

APPLICATION TIMELINE & FEE:
Early Bird Submission Deadline:
December 1, 2026: $25*
*Additional $5 off (total $20) for early submission by November 1!
Regular Submission Deadline: December 31, 2026: $35
